Care and Use

Care and Use: Stainless Steel Carafe

  • In the interests of safety and hygiene please ensure that your Thermos carafe is cleaned with warm water and washing-up liquid prior to initial use.
  • DO NOT look directly into the carafe when filling. Keep at arm's length.
  • For best results from your carafe, before use, pre-fill for about 3 minutes, using either hot water for hot drinks or cold water for chilled drinks.
  • Never use a microwave or conventional oven to pre-heat your carafe.
  • If your carafe has not been used for some time, rinse with warm water to remove any residual odours.
  • DO NOT overfill your carafe. Leave sufficient space in the neck to fit the stopper.
  • After filling, always ensure that the stopper is tightly closed

CLEANING

  • Use warm water and washing-up liquid to clean your carafe after use. Rinse thoroughly with hot water. DO NOT immerse in water. Dry thoroughly after leaving it to drain. Store with the stopper off.
  • DO NOT put your carafe in a dishwasher.
  • To remove difficult stains fill your carafe with hot water, add one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. DO NOT put stopper on product while using this cleaning method. Soaking overnight produces excellent results. Always rinse before re-use.

CAUTION

  • Avoid abrasives, solvents and bleach products.
  • DO NOT store dry ice or any carbonated drink as they may cause the stopper to eject forcefully.

BPA Free Why it matters

Bisphenol A

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a controversial chemical that can be found in the lining of food cans, certain water bottles and more. Some researchers have linked the hormone-mimicking chemical to a host of issues including behavioral and developmental effects in kids. Thermos plays it safe, and has made a commitment to only manufacture products that are BPA-free.
