Care and Use: Glass Flask

Thank you for purchasing this Thermos product which is manufactured to the highest quality standards. Please read these instructions carefully and retain for future reference in order to gain optimal use from your Thermos product.

Please note that this Thermos product contains a glass liner and should be treated with care at all times to avoid the possibility of damage.

  • Before first use of your Thermos product, ensure that the base is securely tightened.
  • In the interests of safety and hygiene please ensure that your flask is cleaned with warm water and washing-up liquid prior to initial use.
  • DO NOT look directly into flask when filling, keep at arm's length.
  • For best results from your flask, before use, pre-fill for about 3 minutes, using either hot water for hot drinks or cold water for chilled drinks.
  • Never use a microwave or conventional oven to pre-heat your flask.
  • If your flask has not been used for some time, rinse with warm water to remove any residual odours.
  • Your flask should not be overfilled. Remember to leave sufficient space in the neck to fit the stopper.
  • Personal injury may occur from the contents being forcefully ejected if the glass filler is damaged.
  • After filling, ensure both the outside cup and stopper are always tightly closed.


  • Using warm water and washing-up liquid clean your flask after use, removing any traces of food. Rinse thoroughly with hot water. DO NOT immerse in water. Dry thoroughly after leaving it to drain. Store with the stopper off.
  • DO NOT put your flask in a dishwasher.
  • To remove difficult stains fill your flask with hot water, add one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. DO NOT put stopper on while using this cleaning method. Soaking overnight produces excellent results. Always rinse before re-use.


  • Avoid abrasives, solvents and bleach products.
  • Keep your flask away from direct heat to protect any plastic material from damage.
  • DO NOT store dry ice or any carbonated drink as they may cause the stopper to eject forcefully, or cause breakage to the glass liner.
  • If your product is labelled FOR TABLE TOP USE ONLY, it should not be transported, and may leak if placed on its side.
  • This product must NOT be used for keeping milk products or baby food warm or cool, to avoid the possibility of bacterial growth.
  • To prevent scalding always pour contents into a cup and do not drink directly from the flask.
  • If this flask is dropped, the glass liner may break. Before using again after dropping, it should be checked thoroughly for damage. If the liner is damaged, under no circumstances should the contents be consumed as they may contain glass fragments.
  • This product contains glass components and is not suitable for use by children.
